WORK SESSION MINUTES
TOWN COUNCIL MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2011
COUNCIL CHAMBERS TIME: 7:00 P.M.
1. Call Meeting to Order
Mayor Delnicki called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

A. GIS (CRCOG Regional Grant)
B. Community Assessment Study (CRCOG Regional Grant)
Mr. Galligan began discussions by explaining the Town Council has the full report from CRCOG of the various grants. The list was circulated to Town staff to determine which programs the Town would like to apply for. The two programs that were decided upon were the GIS and Community Assessment Study. Mr. Scott Roberts, Director of Information Technologies has been tracking what CRCOG is proposing for the GIS. The Community Assessment Study would be used to review potential approaches for regional assessment, best practices and strategies. There would be a group of individuals from various Town’s to put a study together to see if there are duplicated services. It is felt there is an opportunity to use another Town’s services rather than duplicate services. A resolution
will be necessary by December 23, 2011.
Answering questions from Council members, Mr. Galligan explained that the next step would be for the Town Council to decide if the Town is going to go forward with applying for these grants. Mr. Galligan then informed the Council that he would get a full text of the Community Assessment Study program and have it emailed to the Council from CRCOG.
Mayor Delnicki recessed the Work Session at 7:10 p.m. and would be holding a public hearing at 7:15 p.m. The Work Session was reconved at 7:42 p.m.
7. Executive Session
At 7:42 p.m. Deputy Mayor Bazzano made a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss documents containing financial information provided in confidence and exempt from disclosure pursuant to C.G.S. § 1-200(6) and 1-210(b)(5)(B) regarding The Connecticut Studios project. Councillor McCann seconded the motion; and it was approved, unanimously.
8. Adjournment
At 8:14 p.m. Councillor Yagaloff made a motion to adjourn the Executive Session and Work Session. Councillor Havens seconded the motion and it was approved, unanimously.
